Jeanette E. Lenz, 85, of Curtice, Ohio, died Tuesday morning, January 24, 2012, at Parkcliffe Community at Northwood, Northwood, Ohio. Jeanette was born August 23, 1926, in Graytown, Ohio, to Otto and Elsie Riedeman Kersten. On November 10, 1948, in Elliston, Ohio, she married Vernon E. Lenz, who preceded her in death October 5, 2000. Jeanette was a homemaker and also worked on the family farm. She was a very active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Williston, where she taught Sunday School and was a past member of the church council. Jeanette organized many blood drives for the American Red Cross. She was a member of the Happy Hobby Garden Club and won many awards for her flower arranging. Jeanette enjoyed Polka dancing with her husband, and she had been a Cub Scout Den Mother and 4-H Advisor. Jeanette is survived by her sons, Daniel K. Joyce Lenz of Graytown and Douglas V. Sandra Lenz of Greenville, Wisconsin, grandchildren, Andy Ruffner, Jennifer Ruffner-Blackman, Sarah Lenz-Joseph, Nathan Lenz and Rachel Lenz, ten great grandchildren, and her brother, Glenn Marcia Kersten of Graytown. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Thomas Lenz, and brothers, Myron and Wesley Kersten. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, January 27, 2012, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2012, in St. John Lutheran Church, Williston, with burial to follow in Allen Township Cemetery.
